Street lights carrying messages

At around Age 8-10 we used chalk to put signs and arrows on lantern poles and hydrants. We hoped that the policeman would see them and think that someone was on a secret mission. The street was busy and it was important to not be seen when adding signs. Then we ‘shadowed’ the police man who unfortunately never took any notice.
