The Rasquinet Triptych

The Rasquinet Triptych is a tribute to children's free play in public space.

The triptych showcases photos from “Rasquinet Play Park” (summer 2024) where children created large-scale constructions in the park by selecting, stacking, assembling, building, and rebuilding loose parts materials according to their own choices and without predetermined rules.

Every three months, the triptych is updated with a new series of images.

 

The Rasquinet Triptych is an initiative by Annelies Vaneycken and is supported by the Urban Prevention Program (Buurtleven Service) of the municipality of Schaerbeek/Brussels. The color photographs were taken by Thomas Hansenne (Tomix_pix), while the black-and-white images are archival photos from vzw Rasquinet. The “Rasquinet Play Park” project was funded by the VGC (Flemish Community Commission) as part of the Playcation project call.
