Brick Road

When they were building the road in front of our house, they were using bricks. It was a brick road, and they were using machines to cut bricks in half, or make angles in it, if it needed to fit. This machine also stood there at night, so in the evening we would collect the bricks that the construction workers had put in the road. We would take them out of the road again and start breaking bricks. Looking back, I think that could have been a very dangerous thing to do, but nobody ever got hurt. No parents thought that it was a strange thing to do. It was out in the open, nobody cared. Such a different times, this would no longer be possible today.
